About us
Nightwood's founders, Richard Mallam and Paul Kamper, first met in primary school in 1997. Since then, they have taken different career paths, but have always bonded over shared values, interests and professional goals. Both share an open curiosity, love of learning and the ambitious desire to create change. After collaborating on joint projects independently, they decided to launch Nightwood Partners.
Richard Mallam
Director
Richard has accumulated a depth and breadth of experience, both within Australia and abroad. He has held leadership and advisory positions in companies from startups to global leaders of industry, and has scaled products from ideation to multiple billion dollar global offerings. Richard brings deep industry expertise across technology, payments, venture capital and private equity, as well as deep industry experience in oil and gas, petrochemicals, airlines, food processing, construction & mining services.
Richard brings a consultative leadership approach to the work he does. He is results oriented, and is motivated by growth, both personally and professionally.
Paul Kamper
Director
Over the course of 20 years, Paul has gained diverse business and industry knowledge, consistently helping businesses reach their full potential through strong advice, growth strategies, and measured views on the market. With a passion for learning and development, he has led a large accounting practice and acted as a strategic adviser for technology, services, distribution, and construction companies.
He has advised companies during their growth phases, helping them restructure their teams and manage their capital to facilitate growth, as well as implementing numerous successful business turnaround strategies for struggling businesses. He has facilitated the sale of privately-owned businesses, bringing a practical and measured approach to help owners achieve the best outcome.
An active investor, Paul holds stakes in various companies across multiple industries, notably exiting a software-as-a-service (SAAS) business to an ASX-listed company.
Paul brings a strong perspective on helping businesses achieve their potential and is motivated by the success of the people and partners he works with.
